What: Kat & I went for a walk at the Junction
Yesterday Kat and I decided to get out of the house and try to be more active. We drove down to Robert Fowler Memorial Park (AKA: “The Junction”) to go for a walk and check out the Christmas lights. I was surprised to see that, though unlike when I volunteered to put up the Christmas Lights the first year we moved here (2017) to Geneva, AL from Oregon, it seems nobody used a ladder or though it crucial to install the lights very high. In any case, they looked great and were well balanced so the decorating committee did a great job.
I took a few photos on our walk — some things I expected and some were surprises. For instance, I expected to see the Christmas lights, wooden snowmen, and the memorial bench at the entry to the Centennial Oak. But, some cool surprises were the farm-tractor Santas, and the family of turtles on a log in the “swamp”. Also, this was the first time I had been to Junction since I helped Police Chief Pepper Mock and other volunteers clean up the junction a few years back. So, it was cool to see that the wooden bridge / swamp walkway that they had started repairing / rebuilding a few years back was finally finished and walkable 🙂
Afterward, I drove Kat to Sister Evette Gordon’s housewarming party at St. Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church (SEMBC) on 611 Florida St (about a mile from our house). By all accounts, she was “tickled pink” by the pink ladies’ tool kit we bought her.
Overall, it was a great day and I’m glad I got to walk with my baby.

That looks like a great place for a walk!❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️
Yep – its a beautiful place, not too many people and I’ve volunteered with the police and sheriff cleaning up the walking trail a few years back. They like to keep it clean and safe. It’s a pretty cozy spot.
