DISCLAIMER: Here are some notes I wrote on my steps in trying. This post isn’t really an article, more as a set of personal notes on how I troubleshot this particular HP OfficeJet 8600 printer issue. I publish it here mostly for my benefit, as an archive or journal. If it can help anyone else who has run across this issue, all the better. Please let me know if you found this article useful or helpful.

- “Cannot delete hpwuSchd2.exe: Access Denied” when trying to delete HP folder from Program Files.
- Delete in Safe Mode? Worked.
- Run CCleaner — now it finds all sorts of missing DLL issues. Had to run it 4 times in a row before it actually fixed everything.
- Restart into Regular mode.
- Error on boot:
- “Please wait while windows configures unload.”
- Still says “HP Smart Web Printing (Already Installed)”
- Tried this:
- Manually uninstall HP Printer software
- In case you cannot uninstall HP Printer software from your PC (Add/Remove Programs) you can search for .dat files in C:Program FilesHP and then use the following command (with the appropriate modifications of course):
- “C:Program FilesHPDigital Imaging{F38FA38A-7E5A-4209-88ED-4DE21CD20EEF}setuphpzscr01.exe” -datfile hposcr03.dat

SOLVED!What if I install Photosmart drivers and software first, then install the officejet?Was able to successfully install D7400 Printer drivers and software. 🙂
I’m not sure why, but that was the problem. I was able to install the Officejet Printer just fine after first installing the photosmart printer, though Smart Web Printing still showed as already installed.
